Online conference – initiative of European universities

On September 2024-23, 24, the Erasmus+ National Office in Georgia organized an online conference dedicated to the European Universities initiative. This initiative promotes international cooperation between higher education institutions to strengthen education, research and innovation across Europe. The advantages of joining the Alliance of European Universities and ways to join the Alliance were discussed at the event. 

One of the main speakers of the conference was Kevin Guillaume, Secretary General of Circle U. (Alliance of European Universities). Circle U. A research-intensive alliance that promotes sustainable, democratic, and healthy societies through interdisciplinary collaboration.

The Alliance of European Universities is a transnational cooperation initiative that unites European higher education institutions. This initiative aims to connect quality, innovation and higher education through partnerships that enable students, faculty and researchers to work across borders. These alliances support the development of joint degree programmes, research collaboration and resource sharing, contributing to a more integrated European education space. This initiative is part of the EU's efforts to strengthen the global competitiveness of European universities and promote a sense of European identity.

On 23-24 September 2024, The NEO in Georgia organized an online conference dedicated to the European Universities Initiative. This initiative promotes international collaboration between higher education institutions to enhance education, research, and innovation across Europe. This event offered a unique opportunity to the attendees to learn more about the European Universities Alliance, the benefits of joining, and the paths available for the institutions to engage with this innovative initiative.
