“Waking Life” from Portugal is looking for partner youth organizations from Georgia for the project. 

The goal of the training is to equip young workers and trainers with skills that will bring them closer to eco-friendly lifestyles and natural building practices. 

The goals of the project are:

  • Strengthening practical skills in natural construction;
  • Studying life in society as a practice;
  • Strengthening knowledge about eco-practices; 
  • Teaching and promoting practical knowledge transfer, diversity;
  • Connecting age, gender and skills; 
  • Facilitating group processes.

Information about Waking Life:

The “Waking Life” project, within the framework of Landcare, works on ecosystem restoration and soil rehabilitation (Alentejo, Portugal) and also organizes an annual, week-long festival about art, culture and ecology. The festival is attended by 10 people annually.

The festival was first held in 2017, and the Landcare Project began in 2020. Through the project, the festival site has been transformed into a natural park full of biodiversity. The park is open to the public and those interested in research and educational programs throughout the year.

Goals: 

  • Strengthening practical skills natural construction;
  • Immersion in community living and community living practices;
  • Strengthening knowledge in eco practices;
  • Learning to facilitate and transfer practical knowledge, bridging gaps of diversity, age, gender and skill sets;
  • Facilitating group processes.​​

Information about "Waking Life":

Waking Life encompasses a Landcare Project focused on ecosystem reforestation, soil rehabilitation in (Alentejo, Portugal) alongside an annual weeklong art, culture, & ecology festival of 10 attendees. The festival program offers an enticing mix of musical performances, fine art, film screenings, debates, workshops, experiments touching ecological themes.

The first edition of the festival happened in 2017 and the Landcare Project started in 2020 with the transformation of the site of the festival into a natural park filled with biodiversity, open to the public throughout the year and offering a platform for research and educational programs.
